Polestar Service and Parts Business Technical Journal TITLE: Polestar 2 Performance Software: General Info and OTA Failure Instructions REF NO: ISSUING DEPARTMENT: CAR MARKET: TJ 36126.4.0 Technical Service United States and Canada PARTNER: ISSUE DATE: STATUS DATE: 3 US 7515 Polestar 2022-12-06 2023-01-06 FUNC GROUP: FUNC DESC: 3018 Software Page 1 of 3 Attachment File Name File Size How To Verify Installation.PNG 0.2379 MB Rows beginning with * are modified Note! If using a printed copy of this Technical Journal, first check for the latest online version. DESCRIPTION: The performance software upgrade increases the two motors’ combined certified output over the complete RPM range, increasing power from 300 kW (402 bhp) to 350 kW (469 bhp) and torque from 660 to 680 Nm (487 to 502 lb-ft); a boost that also reduces the acceleration time from 0-60 mph to just 4.2 seconds. The upgrade functions as a ‘power boost’, improving mid-range acceleration and overall responsiveness. While improved responsiveness and pedal mapping apply at all times, the boost is most noticeable at speeds between 70 and 130 km/h (45 and 80 MPH) and is fully available between 70-100% State of Charge (SoC). Between 40-70% SoC, the power boost will be slightly lower. This is to protect battery integrity. Similarly, below 40% SoC, the power boost is not available and the standard vehicle power and torque outputs apply, also to protect battery integrity. If a Polestar 2 customer purchased a performance SW via OTA and the SWDL is not successful, Polestar will contact the customer and advise them to visit a dealer for assistance with the SWDL. Please follow the instructions under service.
