Service Technical Information 140/22 ENU WNK5 4 WNK5 - Exchanging Spreader Device (Actuator) (Workshop Campaign) Important: CRITICAL WARNING -This campaign includes steps where control unit(s) in the vehicle will be programmed with the PIWIS Tester. The vehicle voltage must be maintained between 13.5 volts and 14.5 volts during this programming. Failure to maintain this voltage could result in damaged control unit(s). Damage caused by inadequate voltage during programming is not a warrantable defect. The technician must verify the actual vehicle voltage in the PIWIS Tester before starting the campaign and also document the actual voltage on the repair order. Model Year: As of 2021 up to 2022 Model Line: 911 (992) Equipment: Manual transmission (M No. G1L, G1M) Concerns: Spreader device (actuator) Information: There is a possibility that the spreader device (actuator) for the electric parking brake (EPB) does not meet the required specifications on the affected vehicles. If this is the case, cup springs can potentially break in the spreader device over a longer service life, and this can result in function restrictions when the electric parking brake is actuated. Action required: • • • Scope 1 to 4: Not relevant for this vehicle type. Scopes 5 and 6: Exchange left spreader device (actuator). Scopes 7 and 8: Exchange left and right spreader devices (actuator). Information Every vehicle is assigned exactly one campaign scope. To learn which scope is assigned to the vehicle, see PCSS Vehicle Information. Affected Vehicles: Only vehicles assigned to the campaign (see also PCSS Vehicle Information). Required parts and materials Information Please note that the installation position (left / right) of one and the same spreader device can vary between the model lines.
