F47 - Air Leveling Suspension
Some customers may comment on any of the following concerns:
- Air leveling suspension is inoperative
- Service Leveling System message displayed in the DIC
- Air suspension is low or leaning
Condition
When checking for DTC's there may be DTC's set in the Air Leveling Control Module,
but there may also be DTCs that don't seem to be relevant, such as the
following: U0222, U0223, U0224, and/or U0225.
Also, If performing Short Term In ates with GDS2, the function does not work, but
the GDS2 screens may indicate that it is working.
Cause
The cause of these concerns could be a loss of communication with a power window
motor(s), or a door ajar issue.
Correction:
To correct this concern, repair any loss of communication or door ajar DTC's rst, and then reevaluate the air
suspension operation.
For proper function of the air leveling suspension, the door ajar status is critical. Each door ajar switch is hard
wired to it's respective door window motor. When there is a DTC for no communication with a door window
motor, the door ajar status (open/close) is not reliable. This will cause the GDS2 door ajar parameter to default to
"closed", even though the actual door ajar status is unknown due to the no communication issue. This would
mislead a tech to believe the system is in good working order, when it is not.
Tip: When monitoring the door ajar parameters, open and close each door and make sure the data matches the
door position.
Note: This condition has been seen on vehicles that have been up tted, examples armored vehicles, limos, etc.
