SERVICE BULLETIN
APPLICABILITY:	2014MY Forester Models with Power Rear Gate
NUMBER: 07-74-13
SUBJECT:	Memory Height and / or Temporary Stop
Features Inoperative
DATE: 04/29/13
INTRODUCTION
This Bulletin provides a repair procedure for the following two conditions:
•
The power rear gate (PRG) system Memory Height and / or Temporary Stop feature is completely
inoperative.
•
The inability of the PRG to remain stopped in a partially open position once commanded to do so
(Temporary Stop failure). Instead, the rear gate will stop briefly while opening then proceed to
the full open position.
The cause is a small burr which can restrict the movement of the plunger in the drive unit stop
actuator. In addition, DTC B2523 may be stored in the BIU (body integrated unit) memory.
