DESCRIPTION:
New Software Products has been developed to convert a CARE KEY to a normal key.
After the download, the CARE KEY will have no restrictions and it will be possible to connect a driver
profile to the key.
*NOTE: All MY22 Sensus vehicles will arrive with the Care Key function disabled. The instructions
below should only be used on MY22 Sensus vehicles if the customer wishes to have Care Key
functionality activated (see “Returning/Activating Care Key Functionality”) under Service.
*Additional Information: Google built-in vehicles with V2.5 SW and above have the Care Key
functionality enabled.
In addition, the owner of the vehicle now has the ability to toggle between having the maximum speed
limitation feature being enabled or disabled while using the Care Key. Once this feature is enabled, the
“Speed limitation cannot be exceeded Care Key in Use” message will be displayed on the DIM when
using the Care Key, even after the speed limitation feature is disabled.

To convert a CARE KEY to a normal key, use one of the following part numbers, depending on car
model:
* XC40/C40
S90/V90/V90CC
S90L
XC90/XC60
S60/V60/V60CC
SP: 32364504 CARE KEY CONVERSION
SP: 32364505 CARE KEY CONVERSION
SP: 32364506 CARE KEY CONVERSION
SP: 32364507 CARE KEY CONVERSION
SP: 32364508 CARE KEY CONVERSION
After the SW has been downloaded, the Care Key will have the same functionality as a normal key.
Returning/Activating Care Key Functionality:
Note!!! If all keys are re-programmed to the vehicle (for example, erasing and re-adding all keys), the
Care Key will revert to its normal Care Key functionality. If this is done, the above SP would need to be
downloaded again in order to convert the Care Key back to a normal key.
If the customer wishes to have the Care Key functionality back, simply erase and re-program all keys,
this will enable the full Care Key functions.
Warranty claim info:
No warranty claim accepted for a job described in this TJ. The Conversion SW is free of charge.
VEHICLE REPORT:
Yes, please submit a Vehicle Report if the service solution described in this TJ has no effect. Use concern
area “Vehicle Report” and sub concern area “Support needed”, use function group 3666.
