Condition Cause It may also be found that the noise is associated with active fuel management transition. Normal operating characteristic. Correction: This condition can be attributed to the change in air ow through intake and exhaust due to active fuel management transition. Commanding the cylinder deactivation exhaust valves may assist with duplicating the concern. This condition may be more noticeable on convertibles. Condition may be duplicated on a like vehicle. If it has been con rmed the sound is related to active fuel management transition and is observed on a like vehicle, the condition can be considered characteristic and no repair attempts should be made.
