Issue: Some 2021-2022 Escape vehicles built on or before 28-Jun-2022 may encounter false blind spot information
system (BLIS) alerts. This may be due to the original packaging of the side obstacle detection radar mounting
brackets. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the side obstacle detection radar mounting
brackets and configure the modules.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all the following criteria:
• 2021-2022 Escape
• Built on or before 28-Jun-2022
• Equipped with BLIS
• False BLIS alerts

Piece Quantity refers to the total number of individual pieces required to repair the vehicle.
Warranty Status: Eligible under provisions of New Vehicle Limited Warranty (NVLW)/Service Part Warranty
(SPW)/Special Service Part (SSP)/Extended Service Plan (ESP) coverage. Limits/policies/prior approvals are not
altered by a TSB. NVLW/SPW/SSP/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified
using the OASIS part coverage tool.

Service Procedure
1. Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-19.
2. Locate the side obstacle detection right (SODR) and side obstacle detection left (SODL) control modules. Remove
and replace both side obstacle detection radar mounting brackets. Refer to WSM, Section 419-04.
NOTE: The side obstacle detection modules are reused.

3. Run the SODL-Side Obstacle Detection Control Module Bracket Configuration app using the latest software level
of Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) and follow the on-screen instructions to update SODL and SODR
module configuration.
(1). Password will be required to run the SODL-Side Obstacle Module Bracket Configuration app. Use the
password: 071275.
4. To assemble the vehicle, reverse the removal procedure.
