CUSTOMER SERVICE POWERTRAIN – AJ133 COOLING FAN AT MAX SPEED AFTER PCM SOFTWARE UPDATE Customerr Voice: – Reports that the engine cooling fan operates at full duty cycle (maximum speed) when not expected, shortly after the engine is started.. Technicall Description: – The issue normally occurs following a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software update on L494/ L405 2020 MY AJ133 engine derivatives only. – Fan control operation incorrect within new engine calibration release Status: – Please do not update the PCM software for L494/ L405 2020MY AJ133 derivatives only, until further notice. – – – – For vehicles that have had a recent PCM software update and the cooling fans are operating at full duty cycle please carry out the following steps. Using TOPIx Cloud connect to the vehicle and select DIDS > PCM > in the drop-down menu note the software part number listed in row 0xF188. In the SSM attachment, check to see if the software part number is listed in column ‘C’ if so, please submit a Technical Assistance reference ‘PT160: D7u AJ133 Fan noise post Wave 3 Cal Update’. You will then receive a response when the new PCM calibration is available on TOPIx Cloud to update the vehicle to rectify the concern. If the software part number does not appear in the attached list, then continue with diagnosis using TOPIx Cloud and with reference to the TOPIx Workshop manual.
