The combination meter ECU has been updated to address this condition. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to reprogram the combination meter ECU. Figure 1. Choose the correct OFP for the vehicle being repaired by searching for the parts in the Electronic Parts Catalog using the VIN filter. APPLICABLE WARRANTY This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date. Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin. Confirm the condition exists. A. Are maintenance reminder messages displayed on the MID in the combination meter at scheduled maintenance intervals as shown in Figure 1 in the Introduction? YES — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual. NO — Continue to substep B. B. Confirm the combination meter calibration. (1) Use Techstream to check the current combination meter ECU Cal ID. (2) Is the calibration ID of the combination meter listed in Techstream as shown in the Previous column of the Calibration Information table above? • YES — Continue to step 2. • NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual. 2. Reflash the combination meter ECU. NOTE The battery diagnostic tool MUST be used in Power Supply Mode to maintain battery voltage at 13.5V while flash reprogramming the vehicle. For details on how to use the battery diagnostic tool, refer to the DCA-8000 Instruction Manual located at TIS – Diagnostics – Tools & Equipment – Battery Diagnostics. Follow the procedures outlined in T-SB-0134-16, Techstream ECU Flash Reprogramming Procedure, and T-SB-0107-20, ECU Flash Reprogramming With Security Signature, and flash the combination meter ECU with the NEW calibration file update. 3. Using Techstream, perform a Health Check to confirm if the combination meter ECU calibration has been updated and clear ANY stored DTCs. 4.
