Technical Bulletin Service Tip: To avoid engine damage when working on the valvetrain, both camshafts must be locked in place according to the repair manual, see repair group 15 in Elsa. Scenario 1: Valve timing incorrect If one or more of the above faults are stored in the engine control unit, check the valve timing according to the repair manual, see repair group 15 in Elsa. If the valve timing is incorrect, adjust it according to the repair manual. Scenario 2: Valve timing correct If the valve timing is correct, replace the control valve in the camshaft positioner (N205), Part Number: 03L 906 455, according to the repair manual, see repair group 15 in Elsa.
