Summary
This article supersedes TSB 23-2015 to update the vehicles and vehicle model years affected.
Issue: 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles with 2.7L, 3.3L, 3.5L EcoBoost or 5.0L engines, 2020-2022 Transit vehicles with
3.5L Duratec/3.5L EcoBoost engines, 2021-2023 Bronco with the 2.3L or 2.7L engine having charging system
diagnostics performed in the Workshop Manual (WSM) may experience the generator voltage desired (GENVDSD)
parameter identification (PID) missing from the powertrain control module (PCM) PID list in the Ford Diagnosis And
Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. This may be due to a software parameter in the PCM. To correct the condition,
follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
• One of the following vehicles:
- 2021-2022 F-150 with 2.7L EcoBoost, 3.3L Duratec, 3.5L EcoBoost or 5.0L engine
- 2020-2022 Transit with 3.5L Duratec or 3.5L EcoBoost engine
- 2021-2023 Bronco with 2.3L EcoBoost or 2.7L EcoBoost engine
• GENVDSD PID missing from the PCM PID list in FDRS
Warranty Status: Eligible under provisions of New Vehicle Limited Warranty (NVLW)/Service Part Warranty
(SPW)/Special Service Part (SSP)/Extended Service Plan (ESP) coverage. Limits/policies/prior approvals are not
altered by a TSB. NVLW/SPW/SSP/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified
using the OASIS part coverage tool.

1. Reprogram the PCM using the latest software level in the FDRS scan tool.
NOTE: Advise the customer this vehicle is equipped with an adaptive transmission shift strategy which
allows the vehicle's computer to learn the transmission's unique parameters and improve shift quality. When
the adaptive strategy is reset, the computer will begin a relearning process. This relearning process may
result in firmer than normal upshifts and downshifts for several days.
