Technical Service Bulletin If the event memory entry “P1A5B00: Cooling oil valve, no basic setting” with symptom 20832 is logged after a repair to the transmission proceed as follows: Compare the software part number/software version number of the transmission control module (TCM), J217 (address word 0002) (Figure 1) with the software part number/software version number in the SVM Table below. If the vehicle has an installed software part number and software version number in the SVM table perform repair option 1. If the vehicle doesn’t have installed software part number and software version number in the SVM table perform repair option 2. Figure 1. Software part number/software version Repair Option 1: SVM Update Instructions 1. Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732: 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions. 2. Update the of transmission control module (TCM), J217 (address word 0002) using the SVM action code as listed in the table below, if necessary: Model A4 Installed Software Part Number Installed Software Version 8W2927155BP 0002 4K0927153M 0003 4K0927153M 0005 A6/A7 New Software Part Number New Software Version SVM Code Input (or higher) 8W2927155BP 0003 4K0927153M 0007 02A222 No further calibration is then required. The software delivers a default value. The vehicle can therefore be operated with immediate effect. Repair Option 2: If the software part number/software version number is not listed in the SVM table, the complete mechatronic unit must be replaced according to the repair manual instructions. It is not necessary to adapt the cooling oil valve for the mechatronic unit available. After installing the new Mechatronics unit with the scan tool perform the following: • Activate the new control unit using the Guided Function “0002 - Replace mechatronic unit (control unit)”. Only perform the following basic settings according to ODIS: • Calibration of position sensors -G487...G490- Page 2 of 4 © 2023 Audi of America, Inc. All rights reserved.
