management module, J840 (address word 008C). In this case, continue diagnosis outside of the TSB.
Note:
According to Guided Fault Finding, the switching unit for high-voltage battery should be replaced.
However, replacing the part will not solve the problem.
Technical Background
There are certain issues with the internal communication between the switching unit electronics and the
power/voltage sensor.

stored in the hybrid battery management module.
If the above condition applies to the vehicle the Hybrid Battery Management software part number and
version must be checked.
Using ODIS identify the hybrid battery regulation control module (J840) address word 008C (Figure 2).
• If the software part number is 4M4915233G with version 0371 perform SVM update Option 1 below .
• If the software part number is not 4M4915233G with version 0371 perform SVM update Option 2 below .

SVM Update Option 1 Instructions
1. Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732: 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the Hybrid Battery Management control unit (J840) using the SVM action code as listed in the
table below, if necessary:
Note:
To prevent the high-voltage battery from charging during the software update, the high-voltage charging
cable on vehicles with high-voltage components must be unplugged BEFORE the SVM code is entered.
Charging the high-voltage battery during a software update can cause damage to the high-voltage
components.
