POWERTRAIN – MESSAGE CENTER “COOLANT LOW” WARNING – I6 3.0L and V8 4.4L

Customer reports coolant level low message on dash or a coolant leak.
Technicall Description:
–
The Powertrain control module (PCM) will have codes for low coolant.
Status:

Pressure test the coolant system as detailed in TOPIx section 303-03 Diagnosis and
Testing Engine Cooling.
Inspect all cooling system components for leaks while performing pressure test
diagnosis.( Expansion tank, turbo, thermostat housing, radiators and coolers, etc)
If this is a repeat return for the customer, then conduct overnight pressure test and
check level/pressure.
If a fault is found, please raise an EPQR detailing the component replaced and exactly
where the leak was found.
NOTE:: Vehicles must be returned to the customer with the engine coolant at the
required maximum level.
