Model(s) Year A6 2019 – 2023 A6 allroad, and S6 2020 – 2023 RS 6 Avant 2021 - 2023 VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment All Reinforced Bumper Condition Customer states: Customer states one or more of the following functions is inoperative: • Rear parking aid does not work. • Lane change assist does not work. • Rear lid power opening does not work. Workshop findings: The customer concern is usually reproducible, various open circuit DTCs may be set based on the wire affected. Technical Background Environmental influences can cause damage to wiring at the coupling point on the rear left bumper TSFHL. Technical Service Bulletin Inspect connection point TSFHL at the rear bumper for damage (Figure 1). If damage is found, repair the harness using the following steps. If no damage is found this TSB does not apply, carry out standard diagnosis. Figure 1: Inspection point of TSFHL Remove the cable tie (yellow arrow in Figure 2). Release T14mx connector from its mounting (green arrow in Figure 2). Repair damaged wires using wiring harness repair set VAS 1978 B/C. Re-wrap the repaired wiring harness with adhesive tape N 10729002. Technical Service Bulletin Secure protective sleeve N 10892001 to T14mx connector using cable tie N 10623101 (yellow arrow in Figure 3). Wrap adhesive tape N 10729002 around other end of protective sleeve several times. Protective sleeve must not be attached to wiring harness with adhesive tape. Wrap three layers of adhesive tape N 10729002 underneath cable tie N 90937701 (green arrow in Figure 3).
