Cause
Potential fuel injector issue
Correction:
Diagnose any DTCs related to the following systems or components rst.
B23 Camshaft Position Sensor
B34 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
B52 Heated Oxygen Sensor
B66 Intake Air Temperature Sensor
B74 Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor
B75C Multifunction Intake Air Sensor
Q17 Fuel Injector
Q38 Throttle Body
Con rm that only the P219A is set and that no driveability concerns exist.
Perform SBD by verifying the following conditions do not exist:
Exhaust System — Leaking / Missing components / Restricted » Refer to: Symptoms - Engine Exhaust
Fuel — Contaminated / Poor Quality — Refer to: Alcohol/Contaminants-in-Fuel Diagnosis
Fuel Injectors — Leaking / Restricted » Refer to: Fuel Injector Diagnosis
Ignition System — Malfunction » Refer to: Electronic Ignition System Diagnosis
Intake Air Duct — Leaking / Loose Clamps / Poor Connection / Restricted / Visible Damage
Intake Manifold — Vacuum leak
Mass Air ow Sensor — Contamination of the measuring element / Water intrusion
Mechanical Condition @ Engine — Altered air ow
For example:
Exhaust Port or Intake Port @ Cylinder Head — Casting Flash / Restrictions
Exhaust Valve or Intake Valve — Leaking / Stuck
Intake Manifold — Casting Flash / Restrictions / Vacuum leak
Positive Crankcase Ventilation System — Incorrect connection / Leaking / Restricted »
Vacuum Hoses — Incorrect connection / Kinked / Leaking / Restricted
If unable to isolate the concern, replace the Fuel Injection Rail Assembly including all three fuel injectors.
Road test to con rm the repair.
