Some customers may comment of a gear type whine noise while driving. Condition Investigation while monitoring GDS may indicate the whine noise begins in 4th gear and may be heard through 7th gear. The reaction carrier pinion gears may have a machining defect causing the noise to occur. Cause There is no issue with durability. Transmissions built at the Silao Transmission Plant and built between 8/26/22 and 9/12/22 (Julian Date 226 - 254) and 02/22/23-04/03/23 (Julian date 53-93). Correction: Replace the (55) Carrier Reaction (with reaction INTL GR), as pictured as 1, and the (58) reaction sun gear, as pictured as 2, refer to EPC for the correct part number for your application. ** Sample Transmission ID TAG reading Silao, 210th day of calendar year 2022. ** 1st digit - S = Silao, R = Romulus 2nd digit - Shift 3rd and 4th digits year 5th , 6th , and 7th - Julian date ** This P/I will be updated to a TSB as more information becomes available.** Version History Version Modi ed 2 06/13/2023 - Created on. 06/27/2023 - Superseded to change Julian date. © 2023 General Motors.
