Technical Service Bulletin 47 Knocking noise when releasing the brake pedal in break-in mode 47 23 24 2071255/1 August 18, 2023. Model(s) Year VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment e-tron GT, and RS e-tron GT 2022 – 2024 All Not Applicable Condition Customer statement: • Knocking noise when releasing the brake pedal. Workshop findings: • The noise can be reproduced. • The “break-in mode” is active and recuperation has therefore been deactivated. Technical Background The hydraulic brake is the only form of retardation in break-in mode as recuperation has been deactivated. The audible operation noise from the brake master cylinder when releasing the brake pedal is perceived as a knocking noise. Production Solution Not applicable. Service No measures or replacement parts are required. This scenario represents normal behavior. After break-in mode has ended automatically (according to driver profile, up to 1000 miles driving is required), recuperation is reactivated and the noise no longer occurs, or only occurs at a significantly reduced level.
