Feedback Corner This week’s feedback is from Blair regarding a 2004 Phaeton Repair Manual procedure. He states: “In the Repair Manual for removal of rear shelf, there is no mention of the need to remove the three anchor points for car seats. Also in the SRT section for removal/installation, there is no mention of the need to remove and install the C-Pillar Trim, which must be done to remove the rear shelf.” This feedback was reviewed by the Service Information team and was resolved. We really appreciate Blair sending in feedback to help improve the quality of the repair Information. Code Jetta, Golf, Beetle, Beetle Convertible 2006–2013 All All For concerns of Fault Code P117A “Bank 1, correction Lambda middle reached adjustment limit” stored in the ECM, check that the O2 sensors have not been installed or connected improperly. A quick check is to disconnect the rear O2 sensor and start the engine. The ECM should set a fault for sensor 3 (heater circuit). If the fault is for sensor 2, the sensors or connectors may be installed or connected improperly. If the fault is for sensor 3, open a VTA ticket and contact the Volkswagen Technician’s Helpline. 46-09-04TT - Synchronization of the EPB Switch and EPB Module Model(s) Year Eng. Code Trans. Code Passat 2006–2010 All All CC, Tiguan 2009–2013 All All If fault code 03200 or 16352 is present in the Electromechanical Parking Brake (EPB) module, it may be due to the switch and module not being synchronized. To synchronize the EPB switch and EPB control module: Insert the ignition key to the run position. Press and hold the EPB switch. Cycle the ignition off and then back to the run position. Let off of the EPB button. 61-12-01TT - Convertible Top Operation Stops, Trunk Does Not Lock Properly, and/or Right Flap Does Not Close Model(s) Year Eng. Code Trans. Code EOS 2012 All All Some 2012 EOS convertible tops may not function properly during opening or closing. The trunk lock operation may not complete, which can cause trunk to be inoperative and/or parcel shelf flaps to remain open when top opening cycle has completed. This may affect the G562, G563, or G564 sensors when running the test plan or looking at MVB 2. The guide bushing at the back of the lock mechanism may not align with the guide pin mounted on the body. This can cause damage to the guide bushing. The lock mechanism will need to be adjusted and the guide bushing replaced in most instances. To repair, open the trunk to access the underside of the parcel shelf. Remove the guide bushing if it is damaged. Loosen the 2 lock mechanism mounting nuts shown in figure 3 below on the underside of the parcel shelf (be sure to only loosen these 2 nuts due to pretension on the lock assembly). Adjust the locking mechanism so that the rear alignment guide pin is centered in the guide bushing hole. Resecure the 2 mounting nuts to 22NM. Close the trunk and cycle the top to check functionality. If the guide bushing was found to be damaged, replace with part number 1Q0898162A (see ETKA for latest supersession). 69-13-03TT - Front Seat Belt Tensioner Igniter 2 Location Model(s) Year Eng. Code Trans. Code Passat 2012–2013 All All 2012-2013 Passat vehicles use 2 front seat belt tensioner igniters and 1 belt force limiter on each side of the vehicle. Seat belt tensioner igniter 1 (N153 for driver side and N154 for passenger side) and belt force limiter (G551 for driver side and G552 for passenger side) are located in the seat belt retractor assembly, while seat belt tensioner igniter 2 (N297 for driver side and N298 for passenger side) is located in the seat belt end fitting. The connector for N297/N298 can be accessed by removing B-pillar trim and pulling back carpet slightly. 91-12-05TT - 2.5L Engine – P117A Fault Code (April 5, 2013: Update to Model Years) Model(s) Year Eng. Code Trans. Code Jetta, Golf, Beetle, Beetle Convertible 2006–2013 2.5L All For concerns of Fault Code P117A “Bank 1, correction Lambda middle reached adjustment limit” stored in the ECM, check that the O2 sensors have not been installed or connected improperly. 91-13-03TT - Equipped with RNS 510 – Radio Preset Display Model(s) Year Eng. Code Trans. Code CC, Eos, Passat, Tiguan 2009–2013 All All Golf, Jetta, Jetta Sportwagen 2009–2011 All All Be aware that the 24 RNS-510 radio presets are not band dependent, and can be programmed to any mix of AM, FM, or satellite stations.
