Model Description
Z4 Roadster
Production Date

SITUATION
The outer A-pillar trim panel (arrow) protrudes
outward (circled) towards the cowl seal.
The passenger side is shown, but the
situation can also occur on the driver’s Apillar.
CAUSE
Upon installation of the trim, the mounting clips were lubricated to make installation easier. However, this
reduces the retaining force, and the trim can easily be unclipped.
CORRECTION
Degrease/clean the clips/clip holes using a clean dry rag.
PROCEDURE
1. Remove the outer A-pillar trim panel along with the clips.
2. Clean/remove any grease from the clips.
Note: Replace any broken/damaged clips/trim.
3. Reinstall the clips and trim panel onto the vehicle and verify the repair.
