Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) Fuel Tank and Fuel Delivery Module Replacement REFERENCE: TSB: 14-006-23 GROUP 14 - Fuel System VEHICLES AFFECTED: 2023 (JT) Jeep Gladiator This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after December 01, 2022 (MDH 1201XX) and built on or before February 20, 2023 (MDH 0220XX) equipped with a 3.6L V6 24V VVT Engine Up Grade I W/ESS (Sales Code ERC). Date: July 29, 2023 CUSTOMER SYMPTOM: Customers may experience the following: • Fuel gage reading incorrectly at 7/8 full after refueling. CAUSE: Fuel level sending unit float arm catching under vent line at top of tank. REVISION: – MARKET APPLICABILITY: HNA HMEA HSA HIAP HEE HCH REPAIR SUMMARY: This bulletin involves replacing the fuel tank and possibly the fuel delivery module. Failure code ZZ Service Action Qty Part No. Description 1 (AR) 68332305AC Tank, Fuel Assembly 1 (AR) 52030306AE Module, Fuel Delivery 1 (AR) 55366298AA O-ring SPARE PARTS: Notes 14-006-23 -2- DIAGNOSIS: Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/ Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) or symptom conditions, other than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin. If the customer describes any of the symptoms listed above in the customer symptom section, perform the Repair Procedure. REPAIR PROCEDURE: 1. Remove the existing fuel tank assembly. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT> Service Library under: 09 - Engine, 3.6L / Fuel System / Tank, Fuel / Removal. 2. Using a multi meter, perform an electrical resistance test of the fuel delivery module in 2 level sensor positions “empty stop” ( 51 Ohms) and “full stop” (992 Ohms) fuel delivery module electrical connector pins “B” and “C” (Fig. 1) . Fig. 1 Fuel Delivery Module 3. Did the fuel delivery module pass the electrical resistance test? 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. • YES >>> Reuse the existing fuel delivery module. Proceed to Step 5. • NO >>> Install a new fuel delivery module. Proceed to Step 4. Replace the fuel pump delivery module with a new O-ring and module into the new fuel tank. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT> Service Library under: 09 - Engine, 3.6L / Fuel System / Modules / Removal and Installation Install the existing fuel delivery module with a new O-ring into the new fuel tank. Install new the fuel tank assembly. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT> Service Library under: 09 - Engine, 3.6L / Fuel System / Tank, Fuel / Installation. Fill the new fuel tank with the removed fuel from the old fuel tank. Start the vehicle, verify no fuel leaks. POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
