Customer states:
• The horn beeps unintentionally when starting the vehicle or when the steering wheel is turned.
Workshop findings:
One or both of the following DTCs may be stored in the Electronic Central Electrical control module (BCM), -J519(address word 0009):
• B105D01: Steering column electronic systems control module Electrical malfunction.
• B134414: Activation for horn Open circuit/short circuit to Ground (GND).
Technical Background
Various steering column switch modules have been replaced under warranty for the condition noted above but no
issues were identified with these parts. Replacing the steering column switch module in these cases did not
resolve the concern.

Service
If the customer’s complaint can be reproduced, perform the following:
1. Remove the airbag from the steering wheel and disconnect it.
2. Check if the complaint can still be reproduced with the airbag disconnected.
3. If the issue is resolved with the airbag removed from the steering wheel, continue by inspecting the airbag
assembly and harness for the cause of the issue.
