Service
1.
If a configuration of the airbag control module fails (e.g. after replacing a front seat belt), perform an
ignition cycle. Interrogate the airbag control module fault memory again, and attempt to run the test
plans again.
2.
If they still fail, use the oldest possible hardware version of the diagnostic tester (e.g. VAS6150D)
and start diagnosis again.
3.
If the configuration is still unsuccessful, an ODIS patch needs to be installed to ensure proper
communication with the airbag control module. This ODIS patch consists of two files which are
available in Elsa2Go (Figure 1):
Elsa2Go>>Service References>>Categories: Technician References>>Vehicle Selection: 2022,
2023 8YS – A3 Sedan
Figure 1: Both of the ODIS patch files are located in Elsa2Go.
Alternatively, search for the ODIS patch files in Elsa2Go (Figure 2):
Elsa2Go>>Service References>>Enter “Patch_OS_11.0.MCD3D_ini_Loglevel” in Search field.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that you select patch “7”, NOT Patch “4”!
This patch is not a hotfix and is started via double-click.
Installing the patch “Patch_OS_11.0_MCD3D_ini_Loglevel_7” will significantly slow down ODIS
Service.
8.
Start ODIS Service.
(ODIS Service is now slower due to the patch. It may take up to 30 minutes.)
9.
If you saved the diagnostic session, you can now continue with it.
If the diagnostic session was not saved, start Guided Fault Finding.
10.
Run the test plans again.
11.
Complete the diagnostic session.
12.
Close ODIS Service.
