Condition
Some customers may comment that the transmission pops or jumps out of third gear after
shifting and during acceleration.
Cause
This condition may be caused by a manufacturing defect in internal components.

Replace specific transmission assemblies identified by the TUN label (1) and date code
(2) outlined in the Parts Information.

Inspect any replacement transmissions for the specific
date codes (2) located in the parts list below prior to
installing the unit in a vehicle. If these transmissions
are found in your parts inventory, please return for
credit.
Important: If you find that your complaint matches the
bulletin, but your transmission identification does not
match, please contact technical assistance for
verification on repair direction.
Note: Transmissions with the specific part number and
build dates listed below should be replaced with a new
unit, rather than attempting a repair.
