GURGLING NOISE FROM MOONROOF AFTER IT RAINS

The customer states they hear a gurgling / drip / drain noise from the moonroof while
driving in the rain.
ACTION
Follow the SERVICE PROCEDURE in this bulletin to replace the front driver (LH) and front
passenger (RH) side moonroof drain tube grommets.

contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
Replace the Front Passenger Moonroof Drain Tube Grommet
1.
Remove the Front Wiper Drive Assembly (Front Wiper Motor).

2.
Refer to the ESM: DRIVER CONTROLS > WIPER & WASHER > REMOVAL
AND INSTALLATION > FRONT WIPER > WIPER DRIVE ASSEMBLY >
Removal and Installation
Remove the Glove Box Assembly.
a. Remove the seven (7) Glove Box Assembly fixing screws.

b. Disengage the three (3) fixing metal clips according to numerical order 1→2
indicated by the arrows shown in Figure 3, and then remove the Glove Box
Assembly.

Locate the front passenger side moonroof drain tube, and disconnect the drain tube
from the moonroof drain grommet.

Locate the front passenger side moonroof drain grommet under the Cowl Top Cover.

Release the four (4) locking tabs and push inward to remove the moonroof drain
grommet from the inside.

Install the new moonroof drain grommet from PARTS INFORMATION with the arrow
pointing toward the dimple in the bulkhead, and then reinstall the moonroof drain tube.

Reinstall the Glove Box Assembly in the reverse order of removal.

Remove the Fuse Block lid.

Remove the Fuse Block by depressing the clip on the driver (LH) side of the Fuse
Block and pulling outward (Figure 15).

Remove the BCM.

Refer to the ESM: ELECTRICAL & POWER CONTROL ->BODY CONTROL
SYSTEM > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > BCM > Removal and
Installation
IMPORTANT: Do not unplug the BCM. Only unbolt the BCM from the dash frame
so it can be moved out of the way.
12.
Locate the front driver side moonroof drain tube, and disconnect the drain tube from
the moonroof drain grommet.
IMPORTANT: The front driver side moonroof drain tube may be visually obstructed.
You may have to feel for the moonroof drain tube located under the driver side dash
speaker behind bulk head insulation.

Locate the front driver side moonroof drain grommet under the Cowl Top Cover.

Release the four (4) locking tabs and push inward to remove the moonroof drain
grommet from the inside.

Install the new moonroof drain grommet from PARTS INFORMATION with the arrow
pointing toward the dimple in the bulkhead, and then reinstall the moonroof drain tube.

Reinstall the BCM.

Reinstall the Fuse Block in reverse order of removal.
18.
Reinstall the Driver Instrument Lower Panel and the Fuse Block lid.
19.
Reinstall Front Wiper Drive Assembly.


INSTALLATION - FRONT WIPER - WIPER DRIVE ASSEMBLY - Removal and

Reinstall the Cowl Top Cover.

