Technical Service Bulletin 69 Airbag warning light on, DTC B120E1B 69 23 02 2072023/1 November 15, 2023. Model(s) Year Q5, Q5 e quattro, Q5 Sportback, 2021 – 2024 SQ5, SQ5 Sportback VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment All Not Applicable Condition Customer states: • The airbag warning light is on. Workshop findings: The following DTC is stored in the airbag control module, J234 (address word 0015): DTC B120E1B: driver airbag release valve igniter Resistance too high Technical Background The wire routing of the driver airbag release valve igniter, N490, is not optimal causing tension on the release valve igniter connector. During vibrations, this tension leads to an increased electrical resistance. Production Solution Improved wire routing. Service 1. Remove the driver airbag according to: Elsa>>Repair manual>>Body>>Body Interior>>69 Passenger Protection, Airbags, Seat Belts>>Driver Side Airbag>>Airbag Unit with Igniter, Removing and Installing. 2. Check the routing of the driver airbag wire harness. Pay close attention to the wire routing of the driver airbag release valve igniter, N490 (Figure 1, 2). © 2023 Audi of America, Inc. Route the new wire harness without causing tension on the airbag connectors. 4. After reinstalling the driver airbag, clear all fault codes.
