Cause
UD5 or UD7 Park Assist
A technician may nd that the Park Assist is inoperative with DTC U3000 SYM57 set
in Park Assist Control Module after performing Customer Satisfaction Program
N222375790 - Park Assist Retro t. There may or may NOT be any other DTC's
setting in the Park Assist Module.
A Park Assist Sensor or a sensor circuit fault may cause the new Park Assist Control
Module to set DTC U3000 SYM57 and it may or may NOT set any sensor DTC’s.
Correction:
If any Park Assist Sensor DTCs are set then repair those rst and reevaluate. If no Park Assist Sensor DTCs are set
and a root cause is not found after following normal SI diagnostics, then inspect the wiring between the Park
Assist Control Module and each Park Assist Sensors for any faults (opens/loose terminals/shorts/etc). Inspect
each Park Assist Sensor connector for the wiring being too tight and pulling on the sensor connector. One known
area has been at connector X950 where there has been reports of poor terminal tension. In addition, inspect
each park assist sensor for any damage like stone chips/dents/etc. Repair/Replace any damaged circuits,
terminals, connectors, or sensors following normal SI procedures.
NOTE: Park Assist Sensor damage due to impact/abuse/accident/etc. would not be covered under warranty.
