Customer states:
• Rattling, clattering or droning noises from front door.
Workshop findings:
• The mounting frame for the bass loudspeaker causes noises, including when driving on rough roads. Some of
the securing bolts have come loose.
Technical Background
When the vehicle is in operation, temperature influences and vibrations from music can cause a loss of torque at
the securing bolts of the mounting frame for the front door loudspeakers.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
1. Loose bolts must be checked for damage and replaced if damage is identified.
The bolts must be refitted with medium-strength thread-locking fluid (Loctite® 242® or equivalent) and tightened
to the specified torque according to: Elsa>>Repair manual>>Electrical System>>Communicaton>>91
Communication>>Sound System>> Left Front Bass Speaker -R21-/Right Front Bass Speaker -R23-, Removing
and Installing.
