Symptom-based workshop manual Service 62/18 ENU 1940 1 Symptom - Engine - Warning Message “Refill Coolant Immediately/ Stop Driving” in Instrument Cluster: Installing Components from Repair Kit (SY 62/18) Revision: This bulletin replaces bulletin Group 1 SY 62/18, dated April 10, 2019. Model Year: As of 2017 up to 2018 Vehicle Type: 718 Boxster / 718 Cayman (982) Symptom: The red warning message “Refill coolant immediately _ Stop driving” can appear at times in the instrument cluster even though the coolant level is correct. (Warning message: “Refill coolant immediately!”) (Warning message: “Refill coolant immediately!”) Cause: Remedial Action: The connector between the vehicle wiring harness and coolant reservoir may not be connected correctly and, as a result, the electric plug connection on the coolant reservoir may not be locked correctly. Information In the event of a complaint and if the plug connection is loose, the electric plug connection must be connected correctly and secured using the repair kit (00004330676). The repair kit installs an additional retaining clip on the electric plug connection, to ensure the electric plug connection remains securely connected. It is not enough to just re-connect the electric plug connection to the existing coolant reservoir. The repair kit must be used after re-connecting the plug, to ensure that the plug remains secure. Date of Introduction: An adapted coolant reservoir has been installed as standard since 10 April 2018 or starting with vehicle identification number WP0CA2982JS212001. Vehicles with the adapted coolant reservoir (vehicle production date 10 April 2018 or later) do not require the use of the repair kit.
