Customer states:
The following message is shown in the instrument cluster (it can happen while vehicle is being driven):
• “Brake servo: restricted”.
Workshop findings:
• The customer statement can be reproduced.
The following DTC is logged in the brake servo control unit J539, diagnostic address: 0023:
• C007500 Brake pedal sender implausible signal (Symptom Code: 2101543).
This TSB does not apply if a symptom number other than 2101543 is logged for the DTC C007500.
If there are any other DTCs stored related to other complaints, these DTCs must be processed
according to GFF. Please note that in this case, the costs of this work cannot be invoiced on the basis
of this TSB.
Technical Background
Software issue in electromechanical brake servo control unit, diagnostic address 0023.
Even if the “Brake servo assistance impaired “message appears in the instrument cluster, the service
brakes / brake servo assistance remain fully functional!

Update the vehicle software to version 3.2 or 3.2.1 (software updates for various control units) as part of
campaign 91EV and/or 91FN. The software in the control unit J539 will then have the version 0626.
