Condition This could be mis re all the time or start after an AFM event that may or may not go away. This will be a very low mileage concern usually between 2 miles and 1500 miles. Cause We have determined there is an issue with some rockers / SRFF's on the vehicles within Model Years listed above. Correction: If you have a vehicle with this concern, swap the AFM rocker oil control solenoid in the camshaft cover from side to side and reevaluate. If the mis re goes away or moves to the other bank, replace the AFM oil control solenoid. If the mis re remains or comes back after an AFM event on the same cylinder, remove that bank camshaft cover and turn the engine over by hand while closely watching the valves on the mis ring cylinder. If the cylinder was a dead mis re all the time and the valves open, continue with normal mis re diagnosis. If the valves do not open(either intake or exhaust) replace all 4 rockers / SRFF's and all 4 SHLA's / lifters for the a ected cylinder. NOTE: This PI will be updated or changed to a bulletin when engineering has decided there is no longer a parts concern with these rockers or a new part comes out.
