Cause
Some customers may comment that when they open the liftgate it opens all the way
and then reverses to close as if it came in contact with an object.
The liftgate module may have not been properly calibrated for the actuator length.
Correction:
Perform liftgate calibration with scan tool.
Follow: K194 Rear Gate Module> Con guration/Reset Functions> Remove/Reset Module>Liftgate Maximum Open
Position Learn.
Set the liftgate height to custom in the settings menu.
On the radio screen go to Vehicle>Comfort and Convenience>Power Rear Gate Opening> Select Custom.
This will limit how far the liftgate will open.
Advise the customer that a future software update will permanently resolve this concern and at that time the
liftgate could be set to open fully.
IVH will be updated for the vehicle when the software becomes available so that the customer can be noti ed.
