Condition
Some customers may comment on having brake pulsation and/or repeat brake pulsation.
Cause
6541022
Note: Black wheels are not offered as an OEM option.
The condition may be due to the customer painting their wheels and paint got on the
wheel hub surface (1), as shown in the picture above, and the hub bearing surface,
resulting in having lateral runout to be .001 over spec of .002 which is enough to cause
thickness variation of the rotors.
Correction
Copyright 2024 General Motors LLC. All Rights Reserved.
Clean the surface on both the wheel hub and the hub bearing, and inspect the thickness
variation of the rotors.
Important: If the rotors are out of specification, this would NOT be covered under
warranty and would be a customer-pay.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these
technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper
service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a
job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your
vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the
information.
