Technical Service Bulletin 94 Rear lights do not switch from bumper to hatchgate 94 24 71 2050073/2 February 14, 2024. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 18-95 dated January 19, 2018 for reasons listed below. The lamp clusters in the bumper, while fully functional, do not switch from the bumper lamp clusters to the rear lid lamp clusters. • All of the rear light bulbs are fully functional. None are found to be faulty or incorrect. Workshop findings: The following DTC may be stored in the vehicle electrical system control module, J519 (address word 0009): • VAG 02914 (Rear lid closed sensor 1 – Electrical error in circuit). © 2024 Audi of America, Inc. Technical Background The root cause of this problem may be due to a signal malfunction from the G525 hall sensor. This sensor is located in the rear lock carrier trim. Production Solution • Strengthened rear lock carrier trim with additional support for the hall sensor and induction plate mounting. • Air gap between hall sensor and induction plate reduced to 1.4 mm. Technical Service Bulletin Monitoring the measured values will confirm the G525 hall sensor as the root cause. If this is the case remove the rear lock carrier trim and carefully inspect the latch entry door operation, hall sensor mounting, and induction plate mounting. If the rear lock carrier trim is damaged causing a loose or compromised fit of components it will need to be replaced. The G525 rear lid closed sensor is available as a separate replacement part if found to be faulty. The rear lock carrier trim need not be replaced in cases where no damage to the trim is found. Rear lock carrier trim including the latch entry found to be damaged due to outside influence will not be reimbursed under warranty.
