Acadia’s approach to life is straight-up adaptability,
which fits in nicely with its fresh new upright look. In
terms of performance, it’s no surprise that when it came
to the metric for competition, GMC’s legendary line of
trucks provided the benchmark. The result is an all-new
Acadia that blends the work ethic of a truck with the
versatility of an SUV — all while preserving a smooth
ride and handling one would expect of a smaller
vehicle.
• Dynamic exterior styling offers refinement infused
with attitude, leaving no question of Acadia’s GMC
bloodline.
• An aggressive, truck-inspired front fascia radiates
a sense of confidence fortified by dynamic
lighting cues
• Three distinct personas, including two
well-equipped Elevation trims in addition to the
athletic AT4 and the model that places drivers at
the summit of GMC luxury — Denali.

Super Cruise is a hands-free driver assistance
technology for use on compatible roads. The system
steers the vehicle to maintain lane position, or to
perform a lane change, under certain conditions, while
also monitoring your attention to the road. Working with
the Adaptive Cruise Control system, it reduces the
need for you to frequently steer, brake, or accelerate
under available operating conditions.
When Super Cruise is engaged, the vehicle’s real-time
cameras, sensors, and GPS — used in conjunction
with the precision LiDAR map data — keep the vehicle
centered in its lane and traveling along the lane path
while the driver’s hands are removed from the steering
wheel.
Super Cruise can be used while trailering (if properly
equipped). Specific calibrations are designed to
account for additional drag and increased braking
distance. Lane Change on Demand and Automatic
Lane Change are not available when trailering.

Acadia FE4 (PASSIVE PLUS)
Suspension
The FE4 (Passive Plus) suspension offered for most of
the vehicles on the C1Y platform is widely used within
the GM portfolio on account of its proven performance.
It has been tuned specifically for each vehicle to build
upon the exceptional ride and handling already
established for Acadia. Although mechanically based,
Passive Plus technology can mimic the electronic
control system of a more sophisticated suspension.
Passive Plus accomplishes this with two stages of
valving compared to the one stage that exists for the
FE2 suspensions on current-generation vehicles.
Offering Passive Plus as the exclusive suspension for
Acadia’s AT4 model makes sense since Passive Plus is
designed to provide a better balance of ride when
taking on rough terrain, while still providing good
handling on everyday streets. Paired with the 18-inch
all-terrain tires that are also standard on AT4, Passive
Plus helps establish AT4’s clout in the off-road
segment.

Acadia Active Torque Control
(AT4 Only)
With its red tow hooks and functional skid plates, AT4
looks the part of a dynamic off-road vehicle, but Active
Torque Control actually places AT4 in the same league
as GMC’s legendary truck lineup. When it comes to
AT4 proving itself in the off-road market, the
engineering team knew that Active Torque Control was
just the thing to build street cred — along with other
elements that distinguish AT4 as off-road capable.
Active Torque Control is a dual-clutch system that
provides optimal traction by applying torque to
whichever wheel needs it most, depending on the road
conditions. If one wheel hits a wet or muddy patch and
begins to slip, for example, AT4’s twin clutch can
reduce the torque to that wheel and divert it to a wheel
that has good traction. It can also send torque to both
wheels at the same time if that’s what’s needed to help
provide the driver the desired acceleration. When the
need arises, this system gives many of the benefits of a
traditional rear locker, but with much smoother
engagement, better agility and fully automatic
operation.
With Active Torque Control, the customer won’t need to
fuss with any buttons or knobs to get the benefits. The
feature is automatic and always engaged as long as
AWD is active. It’s the type of feature that truly speaks
to Professional Grade engineering. If AWD is
disconnected as described below, Active Torque
Control will not engage automatically. Yet if a customer
experiences excessive wheel slip while driving in FWD
on slippery surfaces, a message will pop up in the
Driver Information Center (DIC) saying: AWD
recommended. This alert is reserved for instances of
significant wheel slip.
In addition to Active Torque Control, AT4 has other
off-road differentiators exclusive to its trim, including
all-terrain tires, a higher approach angle than other
Acadia models (21 vs. 15 on Elevation and Elevation
Premium and 16 on Denali) and a suspension lift of 20
mm (approximately an inch) for additional ground
clearance. All these elements combined with Terrain
mode (described in more detail below) ensure that AT4
is off-road ready whenever customers are.
AWD Disconnect Feature
AT4 and all vehicles of the program with AWD offer a
disconnect feature. With a simple press of a button, the
customer can efficiently disconnect the AWD
components from the drivetrain so the gears and rear
prop shaft stop spinning. This gives customers the
option of AWD control while preserving a measure of
FWD efficiency, depending on the needs of the
moment. They can rely on AWD to be there for when
they need it without sacrificing fuel economy in
scenarios when AWD is not necessary. In contrast, the
systems of competitors generally have the rear-wheel
module always engaged, which causes additional drag
on the chassis for a negative impact on fuel economy.
Page 5
Terrain Mode (Acadia AT4 Only)
6538035
AT4’s Terrain mode simulates the two-speed transfer
case present in the 4WD system of some of GMC’s
full-size trucks, allowing drivers to take advantage of
the feel of lower gearing, so they can drive along more
difficult terrain. To enhance its capability, AT4 was
uniquely tuned for the optimal off-road experience,
which was assessed with some pointed testing on the
Milford Proving Grounds off-road course. While Terrain
mode has been seen before on previous GM models,
this marks the first execution of it in a GMC crossover.
Essentially, Terrain mode allows a driver to drive with
one pedal for more control with the goal of maximizing
performance in off-road driving conditions. It is useful
for navigating areas that pose more of a challenge than
everyday driving, such as small rocks or a downed tree
limb. As the driver takes their foot off the gas, the
vehicle comes to a stop or slows to a creep, depending
on whether they are in L1 or L2 and higher. When they
give the vehicle a little more gas, it creeps forward in a
manner suited for more technical situations.
The customer engages Terrain mode by pressing the
button located to the far left under the bottom edge of
the vehicle’s dashboard. Once Terrain mode is
selected, the driver presses the L button on the steering
wheel and an L1 appears at the bottom of the DIC. The
customer can then use the paddle shifters to select the
different levels of Terrain mode. The + side paddle will
“upshift” to L2 and higher, and the – side paddle will
“downshift” all the way back to L1 from a higher gear
state. L1 provides the more aggressive brake
application, bringing the vehicle to a stop when the
driver takes their foot off the gas pedal. L2 and higher
provides a more moderate brake application. Instead of
stopping the vehicle, L2 slows it to a “creeping” speed.
As the vehicle speed increases, the level of braking
applied when the driver uses Terrain mode gradually
lessens to help minimize friction on the brakes. It
automatically returns as the vehicle slows down again.

Acadia Infotainment
Bulletin No.: 24-NA-051
The vertical 15-inch center display is complemented by
a configurable (non-touch) 11-inch diagonal cluster
display, which extends from the area in front of the
steering wheel in a dramatic wing shape. These two
displays are separate and distinctive, each serving their
own purpose and information types.
Acadia Exterior

•
Serving as a command center for Acadia, a
modern 15-inch vertical center display reflects the
brand’s evolving design language, integrating
technology into the cabin with architectural
influence
• An 11-inch cluster display with a wing-shaped
edge cascades into the tablet-style center display,
creating a waterfall effect while ensuring
everything the driver needs is within easy reach
• Important in-the-moment controls, like the volume
knob and climate controls, are prominently
positioned below the screen for quick access
without distracting from the road
• The infotainment system is powered by Google
built-in capability, seamlessly integrating
personalized navigation with real-time data via
Google Maps, hands-free help from Google
Assistant and a catalog of popular in-vehicle apps
on Google Play
All Acadia models offer one single infotainment system
option — a 15-inch diagonal, vertically oriented
Premium GMC Infotainment System, driven by Google
built-in capability. This means every single Acadia
buyer gets the very highest possible level of technology
in their infotainment system, with no “base” system or
smaller screen size in the lineup.
This purpose-built system represents a significant
change from the current-generation model: Instead of
the traditional wide, horizontal display, Acadia’s large,
vibrant display is arranged portrait-style. It’s a great
example of the architectural influences of the Acadia
design, which emphasizes linear and square aesthetics
(vs. the flowing horizontal free-form displays on other
models). Acadia is GMC’s first SUV to implement this
execution.
The system also displays a distinctive GMC theme with
brand-specific graphics and colors, matching the
aesthetic of both the GMC persona and the Acadia
design specifically.
6538030
Acadia’s dynamic and athletic styling exudes a
confidence curated over years of building its reputation
as a mid-size SUV essential to the daily workings of life,
with a hint of leisure rolled in. The prominent grille,
tempered by bright elements, injects Acadia’s taut
converging body lines with a level of sophistication,
culminating in a bold, expressive design unlike
anything else in the segment.
Acadia is offered in four trim levels — Elevation,
Elevation Premium, AT4 and Denali, all sharing a
muscular, athletic profile shot through with a passionate
utilitarianism. These trims encompass three distinct
characters, reinforced by nuances such as unique
finishes that shift to reflect each model’s personality
and capabilities.
AT4’s visual identity illustrates how form and function
can unite, with distinct elements that enhance its
off-road capable persona, such as tow hooks and skid
plates. To tackle a range of terrains, AT4’s 18-inch
wheel is paired with a wider tire, versus the same sized
wheel on the base Elevation model. Meanwhile,
Denali’s standard 20-inch wheel, with an available
22-inch option for the first time ever, highlights its
aggressive stance while enabling exceptional control of
the road.

Acadia Interior
6538032
As with the exterior, the vehicle’s interior maximizes its
architecture, yielding benefits that translate directly to
the customer, such as a multitude of storage options in
the front row and improved visibility from the third row.
The refined cabin projects a modern design statement
with virtually no carryover components. An expansive
15-inch diagonal center display complemented by an
11-inch diagonal DIC is the focal point of the cabin,
combining the functionality of vehicle gauges and a
centerstack display giving drivers seamless access to
the vehicle’s infotainment system and additional
features.
• A new GMC interior design language,
characterized by sweeping horizontal lines that
make the cabin as stunning as it is functional.
• Available seven- or eight-passenger seating with
an available Mechatronic second row, contributing
to ease of entry.
• Accent materials for the IP and other areas give a
premium feel across all trims.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these
technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper
service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a
job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your
vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the
