Customer states:
• A whistling noise can be heard when accelerating or driving at a constant speed (in combustion mode).
• The noise occurs between 1500 and 2200 rpm and at approx. 70% load.
• The noise can be heard irrespective of which transmission position is selected.
Workshop findings:
• The customer concern can be duplicated.
• The noise has a frequency between 2.8 kHz and 3.2 kHz (can be determined using a PICO measurement).
Technical Background
In rare cases, the turbocharger (part number 06N.145.702.D) can cause an audible whistling noise.

Please refer to the attached document for VAS 611015 (NVH measurement).
Please replace the turbocharger.
Replacing the turbocharger with one with an identical part number (part number 06N.145.702.D) will not
fix the problem. Check ETKA for an alternative available part number.
• When performing the analysis, ideally, the VAS tool 611015 (PICO NVH tool) should be used to identify the
noise with the measuring set-up described below.
• When performing analysis and billing with VAS 611015, please also observe TSB 2070568: Engine/Gearbox:
professional noise analysis with PICO-NVH tool.
• Details about the configuration, positions and analysis of the measurement are included in the attached
document.
• If part replacement is necessary, please complete the document called “measurements” in the attachments
and retain it with the customer records.
