SRS SYSTEM FAULTS DUE TO AFTERMARKET DONGLES FITTED
Customer Voice:
• A Customer may complain of an SRS system warning message being
displayed on the instrument panel.
Technical Description:
• This may be caused by aftermarket dongles being installed in the
Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC).

Status:
• Many different aftermarket electronic devises found installed into the
DLC have set spurious faults in the SRS module.
• When diagnosing a customer concern, please check for non approved
aftermarket electronic devises installed into the vehicle electrical
system.
• If not present at the time of diagnostic work being performed, ask the
customer if such devises are used.
