Campaign 21-01-058G August, 2021 G80 (RG3) RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK LABEL INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT (SERVICE CAMPAIGN T20G) IMPORTANT *** Dealer Stock and Retail Vehicles *** Dealers must perform this Service Campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail delivery and whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair. When a vehicle arrives at the Service Department, access Genesis Motor America's "Warranty Vehicle Information screen (VIS)” via WEBDCS to identify open Campaigns. Description: Certain 2021MY Genesis G80 (RG3) vehicles may have coolant leakage from the radiator reservoir tank. Follow the procedure outlined in this bulletin to inspect the radiator reservoir tank, and if necessary, replace it with a new part. Applicable Vehicles: Certain 2021MY G80 (RG3) vehicles equipped with 3.5T produced from 1/13/2021 to 4/26/2021. Parts Information: 2021 G80 (RG3) RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK ASSEMBLY 25431-T1100 25431-T1100QQH Warranty Information: 10D080R2 RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK LABEL CHECK 0.3 M/H 25431-T1100QQH B22 ZZ2 RADIATOR RESERVOIR 10D080R4 TANK LABEL CHECK AND 0.4 M/H 25431-T1100QQH REPLACEMENT NOTE 1: Submit Claim on Campaign Claim Entry Screen. NOTE 2: If a part that is not covered by this campaign is found in need of replacement while performing Service Campaign T20G, and the affected part is still under warranty, please follow the add-on repair procedures and requirements outlined in the Genesis Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual and submit a separate warranty claim using the same Repair Order. If the affected part is out of warranty, submit a Prior Approval Request for goodwill consideration prior to performing the work. Circulate To: General Manager, Service Manager, Parts Manager, Warranty Manager, Service Advisors, Technicians, Body Shop Manager, Fleet Repair Inspection Procedure: 1. Open the hood of the vehicle. 2. Remove the engine cover (A). A 3. Loosen the radiator reservoir tank fixing nuts (B). NOTICE Tightening Torque: 7.23 lb-ft (9.8 Nm) B TSB #: 21-01-058G Page 2 of 5 4. Remove the radiator reservoir tank (C). C 5. Check the LOT number of the label (D) on the side of the reservoir tank. Proceed with the operation according to the following inspection result information: NOTE: The date code follows the YY/MM/DD format. ➢ Replace the reservoir tank if LOT number is on or within the following affected date codes: D 21/01/12 to 21/01/20 ➢ If it is not possible to clearly identify the date code on the label, replace the radiator reservoir tank following the procedure on page 4. ➢ If it is outside of the affected date code range (such as the example label picture shown on right), then the inspection is complete. DO NOT replace. TSB #: 21-01-058G Page 3 of 5 Service Procedure: ! CAUTION If the engine has been operated, the coolant may be hot. Be sure to allow sufficient time to cool prior to beginning this procedure. 1. Open the radiator reservoir tank cap (E). E NOTICE This service procedure does not require draining of the radiator. 2. Pour (or suction out as shown below) the coolant from the reservoir tank into a clean container. 3. Remove the hose clamps (F) connected to the reservoir tank. F F TSB #: 21-01-058G Page 4 of 5 4. Remove the reservoir tank and replace it with a new radiator reservoir tank. ! CAUTION In the process of removal, be sure to contain any coolant spillage with shop towels as much as possible. Wipe off the remaining coolant residue completely after installing the new reservoir tank. 5. After reservoir replacement, ➢ Install parts in reverse order of removal. ➢ Refill the coolant to the MAX level. 6. The service procedure is now complete. TSB #: 21-01-058G Page 5 of 5
