Model(s) Year A3, S3, and RS 3 2022 - 2024 VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment All Not Applicable Condition Customer states: There is a message in instrument cluster: Radiator blind fault Maximum speed limited to 10 mph. please contact workshop. Workshop findings: • The following DTC’s are stored in ECM, J623 (address word 0001): • P05AF00 – active radiator blind 2 sticks open – with symptom 28397. and/or • P05B200 – active radiator blind 2 lost communication – with symptom 2840. and/or • P05A000 – active radiator blind 1 sticks open – with symptom 28396. and/or • P05A300 – active radiator blind 1 lost communication – with symptom 28408. Technical Background Engine control unit issue • In rare cases the following message may be shown in the cluster Radiator blind fault Maximum speed limited to 10 mph. please contact workshop. • The maximum speed limit should specify 100 mph rather than 10 mph. • Be aware that the complaint may reappear at speeds greater than 100 mph. Technical Service Bulletin • If no fault is found with the component using GFF, then the memory entry can be deleted. • Explain to the customer that a solution is expected to be available by the end of the 4th quarter of 2024 (subject to change) and that no repairs are necessary at this point. Do not replace any components for this condition since this will not resolve the customer’s concern. • Create a PSS record in the PSS application through the Pending Service Solutions (PSS) link in AccessAudi (under Related Links >> Service). In many cases, the complaint is fixed after an ignition cycle.
