The vehicles will be visible and flagged in VMI as “OPEN” on April 5, 2024. Background Mercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain MY 2023 C-Class, GLC, S-Class, and SL (206, 223, 232, and 254 platform) vehicles, the DRVU control unit does not correspond to current production specifications. As a result, an incorrect fault stored message may appear (e.g. U188D00 and U015400) in the instrument cluster, indicating a “missing signal,” when in fact such signal is not required at this time.
