Additional Information for coax cable overlays:
1.
Side camera overlays
a.
It is recommended to remove the door and grommet underneath the connector in Figure 7
to begin removal for overlay. To remove the connector from the cavity in Figure 8, it is also
recommended by moving the foam piece circled in Figure 9 to create space for the
connector to pass through.
b.
Incase of limited space to move the foam piece, The bracket holding BCM1 may be loos
ened and fastened picture in Figures 10 & 11. This can include removing the BCM1 and
OTA-FC for access.
2.
Front camera overlay
a.
It is recommended the overlay follows the same wiring harness pathing from the wheel
well, up near the frunk, to the firewall grommet.
b.
The point of entry designation is indicated by the green arrow in Figures 12 & 13. When
using the insertion tool, aim away from the wiring harness to prevent any damage to any
wires. Additionally, the pierced point should be aimed below the bracket of BCM1. It is
important to not remove any material from the grommet when piercing.
c.
After installing the cable, ensure the pierced point is properly sealed and watertight.
3.
Overlay paths
a.
When overlays are laid in, be sure to fasten the cables to the pre-existing harnesses in the
vehicle to prevent any damage.
b.
Recommended paths for the front and driver side camera overlays to the zFAS control unit
should follow the green line in Figure 14, while the rear camera overlay should follow the
red line in Figure 14.
