Customer states:
The customer complains that driver assistance systems are permanently unavailable or there is a message in
the instrument cluster, e.g.:
• Side assist and exit warning system: unavailable. Sensor view restricted due to surroundings.
• Audi pre sense: currently restricted. Sensor view restricted due to surroundings.
• Rear cross-traffic assist: currently unavailable. Sensor view restricted due to surroundings.
Workshop findings:
The following DTC may be stored in one or both of the lane change assist control modules -J769-/-J770-,
(address word 003C / 00CF):
• DTC C12AA00: Restricted view
Technical Background
Radar reflections of the bumper carrier may cause interference in the lane change assist system.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
Cover the holes and openings on both sides of the bumper carrier. To do so, please use the following covers:
• 4K0 807 245 / 4K0 807 246
Please use the following spreader rivet to secure the covers on the bumper carrier:

In order to secure the covers, two holes (8 mm diameter) must be drilled on each side (left and right) of the
bumper cover, as shown in the image below:
