Hino Motors Sales U.S.A., Inc. 45501 W Twelve Mile Road Novi, MI 48377--------------------------------------- Hino Emissions Recall - M0450 Emissions Label VIN: REASON FOR THIS EMISSIONS RECALL Hino Motors Sales U.S.A., Inc. has decided to conduct an emissions recall to inspect Vehicle Emissions Control Information Labels of certain 2024 Hino L6 and L7 model vehicles. Some Vehicle Emissions Control Information Labels may contain incorrect information due to incorrect data being input to the production control system, or due to mislabeling during repair. The details of the issues are as follows: 1. “LRRA” may have been placed instead of “LRRS”. 2. “LRRS” may have been placed instead of “LRRA”. 3. “THIS VEHICLE COMPLIES WITH U.S. EPA” may have been placed instead of “THIS VEHICLE COMPLIES WITH U.S EPA AND CALIFORNIA”. WHAT WE WILL DO Hino Motors Sales U.S.A., Inc. will inspect the Vehicle Emissions Control Information Label of your truck and replace as necessary at no cost to you. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO Please contact your Hino dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service date. Instructions for making this correction have been sent to your dealer. The labor time necessary to perform this voluntary recall is approximately 1.0 hours. Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much additional time will be needed to schedule and process your vehicle. Your Hino dealer is best equipped to provide service to ensure that your vehicle is corrected as promptly as possible. If, however, you take your vehicle to your dealer on the agreed service date, and they do not remedy this condition on that date or within three (3) days, we recommend you contact the Hino Recall Headquarters at [email protected] or (248) 6999390. Federal Regulations require that any vehicle Lessor receiving this Recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the Lessee within 10 days. If you no longer have the vehicle described in this letter, please help us to update our records by contacting the Hino Recall Headquarters at [email protected] or (248) 699-9390. OTHER INFORMATION - If you have NOT received the remedy, it may fail an emission inspection test if state or local regulation requires one. - To ensure your full protection under the emission warranty on your engine by federal law, and your right to participate in future recalls, we recommend you have your engine serviced as soon as possible. Not having your engine serviced may be considered to be improper maintenance. Additional information for California Residents If you live in California and don’t have this recall performed: The state of California requires the completion of emissions recall repairs prior to vehicle registration renewal. Failure to complete recalls also may cause the vehicle or engine to fail a vehicle inspection or smog check test when such tests are required under California state law. How the state knows that the recall has not been performed: State of California regulations require Hino Motors Sales U.S.A., Inc. to provide the Department of Motor Vehicles with a record of all vehicles that have not had the recall service performed. Your dealer will provide you with a Vehicle Emission Recall Proof of Correction Form after the recall service is performed. Be sure to save this form since the California Department of Motor Vehicles may require that you supply it as proof that the recall has been performed.
