2011 HYUNDAI SONATA with 5087.0 miles

My wife was driving approximately 20-30mph, the electric power steering catastrophically failed, and did not fail over to manual steering. The steering wheel and column gyrated to an extreme level and my wife was just barely able to get the car to the median, getting a blister on her hand in the process of trying to control the wheel where she had it towed home and eventually to the dealership. The dealership pulled dtcs C1259, C1616, C1603, steering angle sensor - electrical malfunction, can bus off and derating (eps thermal protection). The mdps (electric power steering module) was replaced, but i am still very leery that this could happen again, and at interstate speeds, where the vehicle might not be controllable, as it was barely brought to the median at lower speeds.

2008 KIA RONDO with 33122.0 miles

Husband driving , car stopped suddenly, he hit brakes , brakes failed, and rear ended car in front, who then hit car in front, who then hit car in front. 1 or 2 people injured and was taken to hospital. We are sore, but will survive. Was recall on part that was replaced ,faulty brake light switch. Switch was replaced in sept. 2013 and accident was 11-12-13. Had mechanic checked and codes C1513 and C1616 came up. Have been told this could have caused brake failure. Concerned that a part that was replaced one month before accident, had failed again. People will be injured or worse killed because of this problem. Been speaking to man in canada via internet, who has exact same vehicle, same year, same make, who also had brake failure. Spoke with Kia, they refuse to do anything. Please do something about this before others are injured.
