2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE with 111000. miles

My 2011 chevy Traverse check engine light came on, on 9/18/20 and referenced error codes P0009 and P0018. The car is looses power when driven and is getting terrible gas mileage. It only has 111,000 miles on it and has been maintained according to the manufacturer's guidelines. The mechanic that reviewed my car indicated a timing chain issue, which i have found all over the internet has happened to other 2011 Traverse owners. Luckily my chain did not break while i was driving on a major highway and cause an accident. When will chevy be held accountable for this issue?

2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE with 84000.0 miles

At 84000 miles the emissions light came on yet nothing was a red flag while driving. No noises or anything seemed different. Had diagnostics completed and timing chain was stretched and needed replaced. Codes P0008, P0009, P0017 appeared. Cost $2500. Our warranty was up at 83000 miles. Seems this is a common problem yet the dealership never mentioned any of this during the sale. Gm should have a recall on this!!

2010 BUICK ENCLAVE with 110000. miles

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that the engine warning light remained illuminated. The contact also stated that while exiting a parking lot, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with code P0008 and P0009, engine position system performance bank 1, and bank two timing chain, and timing chain kit for the engine. The contact was informed that the vehicle needed to be serviced by a dealer. The contact had called woody Buick dealer, located on 1585-1591 ogden ave, naperville il 60540, and was told that the failure was dangerous and it was an emergency to bring the vehicle in. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the timing chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and had informed the contact the vin was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE with 68000.0 miles

At 68,000 miles, the check engine light came on, i took it to the local chevy dealer who said it was a timing chain problem. They said that it would cost about $3200 to fix. Doing some research (obd2 codes P0008 and P0009) this is a common problem with this particular engine, spanning many models and model years.

2010 BUICK ENCLAVE with 138645. miles

Vehicle losses power, engine light came on, codes P0008, P0017, P0009- took it to shop and they said the oil was 3 qts low. I just had it changed within 60 days. They changed the oils and cleared the codes which were showing. I also had transmission fluid changes and a new front left transaxle installed. Wife drive the vehicle home, which is within 3 miles of shop. Engine came back on with the same three codes given above. Caleed back to shop next day, they said engine would have to be pulled and the chart said about a 21 hours job (they charge $68/hr). And said it would be about $2500 to fix. I see many posts online with this vehicle concerning this same issue. There should have been some type of recall on the timing chains/belts in these cars and like models.

2007 SUZUKI XL7 with 244626. miles

I just purchased this vehicle 9 days ago and took it through inspectin today. It failed due to the codes P0008,P0009,P0018,P0017,P0016 which are the timing chains and twin cam position sensors. The repair to the vehicle is $1500.00 or more due to the extent of the procedure for the repair. I was told that this expense is my cost even though i only had the vehicle 9 days. This is an on going issue i have noticed with all these vehicles within the year of 2007. Suzuki told me that it is not in the man. Warranty anymore due to the miles. I really need help there is not even a recall for this issue.
