P00AF

Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control "A" Module Performance

DTC P00AF, sometimes indicated as P00AF00 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a generic fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the air/fuel mixture causing turbocharger/supercharger boost control "a" module performance.

The P00AF code means that the turbocharger or supercharger boost control "A" module is not performing as expected. This could be due to a variety of factors, including a malfunctioning boost sensor, a clogged air filter, or a faulty boost control module.
If you have a P00AF code, first check to make sure that the boost sensor is properly installed and that there is no debris blocking the air filter. If those things check out, then the next step is to test the boost control module. If the module is found to be faulty, then it will need to be replaced.

2021 JEEP WRANGLER

While driving on a one way high way. Was about to overtake a semi truck. While half way on the opposite lane doing a legal overtake my acceleration decreased significantly, nearly causing my passengers and i to get into a head on collision with the another vehicle. All of this was due to the fact that the Jeep’s acceleration was decreased. The following warning appeared and code was registered: check engine light code P00AF service electric throttle control stop/start unavailable service stop start system acceleration issues after shutting down my engine all the codes disappear and vehicle precedes to normal driving. I am extremely worried that this might happen again and pace me and my loved ones in a dangerous situation as well as other people on the road

2015 RAM 3500 with 69000.0 miles

Consistently getting a P00AF engine code. Pertains to the turbo boost actuator. Apparently this has become a common problem with many of the Ram 6.7l cummins engines. This can lead to poor engine performance and eventually catastrophic engine failure. Currently the repair cost just for the actuator through mopar is $3000. Obviously this is a recurring issue with these trucks, at a substantial cost to the consumer. I began noticing that my engine brake would not engage when descending grades, and then i started getting an intermittent engine light would come on, now it comes on all the time. I had a local parts store look up the engine code for me and it logged a P00AF condition. I googled the information and realized that this is a very serious issue that could become a very expensive repair if not addressed in a timely manner. In my opinion, a recall should be issued for this.
