Diesel Intake Air Flow Control Stuck Open

DTC P02E4, sometimes indicated as P02E400 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a generic fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the air/fuel mixture causing diesel intake air flow control stuck open.

A code P02E4 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
The engine may be experiencing a lack of air flow, which is usually caused by a clogged air filter.
The engine may be experiencing a lack of air flow, which is usually caused by a clogged air intake.
The diesel intake air flow control may be stuck open, which would allow more air into the engine than necessary.
One or more of the engine's sensors may be malfunctioning, which could cause the engine to receive too much or too little air.
The engine's computer may be incorrectly interpreting data from one or more of the engine's sensors, which could cause the engine to receive too much or too little air.
If the code is intermittent, it may be caused by a intermittent fault with one of the engine's sensors.
If the code is persistent, it may be caused by a problem with the diesel intake air flow control or one of the engine's sensors.
If the code is accompanied by a decrease in engine performance, it may be caused by a lack of air flow.
