Shift Solenoid "F" Control Circuit Range/Performance

DTC P0997, sometimes indicated as P099700 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a generic fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the transmission (gearbox) causing shift solenoid "f" control circuit range/performance.

2014 JEEP CHEROKEE with 95139.0 miles

I have a 14 Jeep. I went through both recalls with in 3 months my transmission started shifting into neutral randomly around 40 mph. It through a code P0997 low voltage to solenoid f. In a day check engine light went away in a week it came back. Went to dealer paid $1169 to replace valve body. It now shifts smoothly a lot better than it ever have. In my perspective the valve body possibly the reason that the Jeeps shifts hard and should be recalled
