P1861

DTC P1861, sometimes indicated as P186100 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a manufacturer-specific fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the onboard computer system or ancillary outputs causing p1861.

    2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA with 81000.0 miles

    My 2005 Chrysler Pacifica stalls when a left hand turn is made at highway speed or in parking lots. This is very, very dangerous because you lose braking and power steering. The gas gauge goes from half a tank to empty within a matter of 50 miles or less. When you try to re-fuel it you only get about ten gallons to go in after about ten minutes of the nozzle clicking off repeatedly. Called Chrysler dealer and they have never heard of any of these problems. Took car in and they found nothing wrong. I know for a fact that a dtc of P1861 is and was present. This codes means that a fuel tank siphon line is disconnected. This vehicle makes me and my family nervous to drive. We can not afford to trade and can not afford any costly repair bills with no positive outcome. Please help to get Chrysler to issue a recall to fix the problem that is occurring with so, so so many 2005 Pacificas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA with 158500. miles

    The vehicle does when in reverse and you step on the accelerator. Gas gauge reads empty even with fuel in it and fluctuates between empty and full. Vehicle stalls when going around a corner or coming to a stop.. Foul smell coming from the exhaust into the cab. All dash gauges go off. Check engine light is on. Received two different codes 1) o2 sensor bad & 2) P1861.

    2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA with 195900. miles

    When fueling gas pump automatically shuts off not letting gasoline into fuel pump. When half a tank of gasoline is left in car it automatically goes down to empty on fuel gauge. Egr valve problem, rpm too high when idled, feel like car slows down on own when driving on highway. Engine light on with P0507 code: idle air control system rpm higher than expected and P1861 fuel line disconnected
