Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 3
DTC P242A, sometimes indicated as P242A00 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a manufacturer-specific fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the auxiliary emissions system causing exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 3.

2015 FORD F-250 with 70600.0 miles
Since my last complaint this truck has had to have the def heater/sending unit replaced @ 70091 miles. Today the check engine light has come on again for the 4th time for a P207F code. Purchased truck october 2018 with 53,000 miles. December 10, 2018 ccv collar put in @ 57,104 miles for P207F code. December 21, 2018 nox sensors replaced @ 57414 miles for P207F code. August 30, 2019 egt sensors replaced @ 65687 miles for P242A & P2031 code. January 15, 2020 nox sensors replaced @ 69332 miles for P207F code. February 4, 2020 def heater/sending unit replaced @ 70091 miles - code ??. March 8, 2020 truck has popped P207F code again @ approx 70600 miles. At all times the truck was moving when the check engine light came on. At all times the truck was taken in for service within a few days of the check engine light coming on.

2011 FORD F-250 SD with 76000.0 miles
While driving message came up "stop safely now" i pulled over just enough to get off the interstate, when the engine died, and wouldn't crank again. I called my dealer tarver Ford, they called a wrecker to pick it up and brought it to their shop. 2 egt exhaust temp sensors bad, $260 to fix. Today 3-13-15 my engine light came on, i bought a code reader and P242A code came up another sensor bad.
